Parade of Colours
This morning, as I exercised out on the balcony, there it was again, a blue kingfisher perched on my neighbour’s TV aerial. It reminded me of a fine morning 2 weeks ago when I was treated to a flypast of bird colours, starting with this kingfisher. It reminded me that I should capture this memory before it becomes too distant to recollect.
That morning, there was this kingfisher similarly perched on the aerial. Then, shortly after it had flown off, a pair of yellow-breasted birds (orioles?) flew before my very eyes as I continued with my exercises. As though that was not enough, it was capped with the flight of a green parrot that suddenly crossed my line of vision.
What a parade of bird colours in the course of a few minutes. It spoke to me of the Lord’s pleasure to have paraded His creation before me like that. And yes, it is still a beautiful world we live in.
This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise
The morning light, the lily white declare their Maker’s praise.
